Tinicum Township

The MS4 Program, or Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems, is intended to improve the quality of our nation's waterways by seeking to reduce the pollutants carried into our waterways by stormwater.

As part of the MS4 Program, Tinicum Township holds a permit to discharge our stormwater to local waterways. As a permit holder, Tinicum is tasked with implementing a responsible stormwater management program that reduces the discharged of pollutants to the maximum extent possible. The Township's management plan protects water quality and satisfies the water quality requirements of the Clean Streams Law. In Pennsylvania, the MS4 Program is administered by the Department of Environmental Protection.
